MARTYNE LALIBERTE

Martyne may very well be one of the kindest and most thoughtful women you will ever meet! She has an amazing ability to choose her people and bring them closer with her warm heart.

She is a DOER! She fights for what she wants, and she doesn’t let anything get in the way of achieving her goals. She pushes through the tough situations in life so that she can stay focused on her dreams, both in her family life and career. She is a brilliant and passionate teacher and is incredibly skilled in educating our future generations. After 30 years of teaching, she wanted to get her spark back! Martyne dedicated the last couple of years to getting out of her comfort zone in order to arrive at where she aspires to be in her career and she stepped into a new position this year. She is living her dream and is so happy and fulfilled!

As you can tell, Martyne has many great qualities that make her who she is with her strengths. Martyne is blessed in her loving marriage with her amazing husband and their two wonderful children. Before adopting their two boys from China, Martyne and her husband were faced with some challenges. After trying to get pregnant for 13 months, their dream of becoming parents was finally granted. At their first ultra sound they got the news that their baby was affected with Edward Syndrome also known as Trisomy 18. Even with a 70% chance of possibly dying in the womb, they let the pregnancy take its course. On October 6, 2005 their beautiful angel Nathaniel made it out into this world. It was such a blessing to care for him for sixteen days. In this short period of time, their little angel touched so many lives! Through these difficult times, Martyne and her husband relied on their faith and on each other. It actually brought them closer and stronger together. It was unfortunately not the last of their struggles. Five miscarriages followed the passing of their son. Their will to become parents was strong so they pursued the adoption route that lead them to China. Not only once, but twice! Martyne also has a step-daughter with whom she gets along very well and cherishes. They enjoy living a healthy and active lifestyle, and are involved in many sports and outdoor activities. Martyne enjoys volleyball, golfing, archery, and working out regularly.

In addition to her career in education, she also has two (yes – TWO) small businesses! She is a sales representative for both Thirty-One Gifts and Norwex. If you are looking for a fun and interactive way to host a sales party, she is your gal! She also volunteers her time to various children’s sports activities, and her church congregation through teaching and fundraising efforts. She is involved in teaching the various sacraments from the First Reconciliation to Confirmation; she’s a Level 1 certified instructor for the Atrium (Montesori catechism program); she teaches children’s liturgy on Sunday, and she has been the president (and secretary at the same time) of the Fall Supper Committee for many years now. She is also an active member of the Ste-Anne CWL (Catholic Women’s League).

Martyne is a great role model, and she more than deserves to be recognized for all the lives she has touched and the greatness she has done and is continuing to do in this world.

Words of wisdom and empowerment from Martyne

I asked Martyne what she feels has been the most valuable lesson she has learned in 2021,  and this is what she had to share.

“The pandemic showed me that life was passing me by too quickly. It taught me to slow down and put my priorities in the right place in order to take control of my life again. By doing so, I started to appreciate more what I had, and to stay present in the moment. I was reminded of the power of nature. Building a nice little haven outside of my home was very therapeutic. I was once again finding pleasure in the small simple things. It’s important to surround yourself with good, positive people during the tough times. You can trust they have your back! When you start loosing control, you need to ground yourself and to press the refresh button!”

I asked Martyne to share her message of strength and empowerment for other women to start 2022 with a positive mindset, and this is her inspiring response

“Don’t be scared to look deep within, you are beautiful inside out! When things get tough, don’t give up,  persevere! Remember, you are stronger than you think! Never forget that you are #1, so be true and kind to yourself. If you are not well, you won’t be able to take care of those close to you. BELIEVE in yourself and in your capacities, you made it so far! The best is yet to come, are you ready to embrace it? I know I am!”

WOW! What an incredible honour to be able to share Martyne’s story with you. We can only be so lucky to have a person in our lives like her. A woman who truly takes the time to care and share her gifts with the world – there is such uplifting hope that comes from acts of kindness and her pure heart. An amazing gift, and really makes a significant impact on how we can thrive in our lives, rather than just survive. Thank you for reading Martyne’s story, and let’s keep supporting and empowering each other as we continue our journey to live our best life!

MARTYNE YOU ARE PHENOMENAL!!!
